No, regular old key -- but not a smart key.

 

Floor starter was cool!

 

1933 Chev Starterator
The vacuum unit moves the linkage to disable the starter when the engine is running.
Sure makes a key and solenoid look a lot simpler.

I was a vending guy for just a bit. Mostly cigarette, snack machines. It was good except haulin tonnage of coin to the bank every week. Then they gave me Music ‘n Games, full line. Pool tables were the last straw. Learned a whole bunch but never again.

 

That diagram reminded me of Mark Robler's video of how the hammers on a piano works. Looks complicated, but when you break it down, it's only as complicated as it needs to be.

That was pretty cool, our musical forefathers were pretty clever guys.
We had an ancient player piano when I was a kid along with a box of the paper rolls of music.

Pretty sure it's a Clark, too.

 

Nope, the engine on the forklift is a 4 cylinder flathead under the seat.
The forklift is a 1946 Towmotor.

 

Finally remembered to get some pictures of some of the signs my dad has. Lots more that were buried and hard to see. These all work and we’re mostly sourced locally from closed down places and a few from Craigslist. I remember they used to be on every Friday after work. Had a nice buzzing sound in the shop.

 

Just discovered a tool I have needed all my life in another thread.




I will have one of these next time I have to do exhaust work!

Floor starters were awful in a manual. We had a fire truck (original one to the town) and it was beside the gas pedal. Hard to hold the brake, pump the gas pedal, and push the starter
