I do as well... It's probably not helpful to show up to his house...
@tyfoon11 / @Overlanerd - can you facilitate some communication on here?

Was not planning to do that unless the shop looked deserted/closed down and hearing what the neighboring tenants have to say. I would at least want an explanation of why.

I still believe in Phil as well. But a lack of communication makes one wonder and think the bad thoughts which brings us to a point of second guessing our choices.

It shouldn’t have to be this way…just a simple status report would turn all this negativity around.

Well that’s all I need to see. I feel better already and will sleep soundly tonight.

    Way to go Phil!

The delays always get in my head but Phil has always come through. He just emailed me and said the panel should be here Tuesday but I could come get the Nomad with the glass hatch next weekend if it was delayed. I will check in with him mid week to see if I'm going to make the drive or wait a week. Lovin' me some Phil right now.

I know most won't excuse the lack of communication but I do feel bad for the timing of his launch with everything that has gone on in the world. The HVAC industry is a poop show right now. ABB Variable Frequency Drives, which are ubiquitous now in almost every commercial piece of gear, are now a year out. The parking lots at a few of our factories are full of "almost complete" units, some missing just one part and can't ship.

The waiting sucks but everyone says it is worth it. After seeing the other offerings at Overland, it was Vagabond or nothing for me.

I have driven by Phil’s place many times, headed to my one of my gfs and I’s favorite restaurants. It is tempting to stop. But that’s ridiculous and would never do that. I’m close I should run over to the shop and do a check in. As of recently we have opened the conversation to other options. It’s been light but with the way people having been taking in this chat we having been getting a little more serious about it.

As we head out next week for a 2 week road trip this becomes more prevalent, and we anticipated back in 2020 we would without a doubt have it for our 2022 yearly trip. Really sad we don’t.

I got that email as well and that Phil was contacted by a friend who informed him that I “posted some concerns on Tacoma world”. So fwiw our complaining on here does seem to work to an extent …..but also who’s the snitch

Everything about the photos matches what he told me a month or two ago.

For my camper, I’m told the delay is due to the L-Track, lighting, and Fan which are supposed to arrive on Tuesday. Phil also said in the email that he will get with his team on Monday and hammer out a completion date. Which I thought I was told last time I spoke with him on the phone but, for those reading this thread religiously, the reception on that phone call was subpar so he may not have said he’d give me a completion date. I don’t fully remember. Hopefully myself and others will know more by next week.

Additionally, I thought I read on here that powder coating the lid edges was a pain in the ass and they stopped doing it, but the lid of my camper is definitely powder coated black, which was not an option I had. Hopefully I misread and they did indeed powder coat the edge of the my lid and keep the top silver. That’d be rad!

For the love of all that is good, how are you guys getting Phil to respond to literally anything?

I've not been able to get a single response from VO about my order in the past 6 months... Website form, email, phone, nothin.

At my wits end and really feelin not positive about it.

Apparently you just need to voice your concern on here! lmao

In all reality, it may just be luck of the draw. I've felt the same as you; others receiving info while I'm in the dark. Give it time and hopefully he will reply. He also actually sent me two separate emails last night. One new and one in reply from an email in February (lol). Both stating the same thing almost verbatim: Saying he heard I was voicing my concerns (maybe a little too much) on here and that he understands I'm frustrated and rightfully so.

Communication is always nice, but I'm not sure it's all it's cracked up to be in this instance. I still don't have a camper or install date.

He has no right to be frustrated. All anyone wants is an update. No one on his team has time to send one single email about the status of campers or REAL estimated productions times? That’s bullshit. He has hundred of thousands of dollars of interest free business loans from us and can’t even give an update. He just feeds us bullshit so we feel like they are doing something but at the end of the day it’s there job to figure out how to make campers. They are the only company that can’t make them. Everyone else is doing just fine. It doesn’t make any sense.

Is VO trying to hide/bury the frustration or is this a change that TW made since this is a company with less than 160 products made in over 4 years?

No idea. It would be awesome for someone to address why the sudden change. In the past I’ve seen it happen when people weren’t happy with the company (example-right before AllPro sold to TG)

This is what I received from the moderators here when I inquired about the disappearance of threads related to Vagabond:

"Based on their lack of participation on the forum and current complaints from folks we removed their status as a vendor here.
The main thread is available now so everyone who is waiting on an order has a central point for communications.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...y-drifter-how-long-are-people-waiting.697409/"

It does not appear it was action taken on the part of Vagabond, simply Tacoma World no longer promoting the company by removing them as a vendor.
