All this paranoia about the spare. Go on line find a rim matching your rims in use. Mount, balance and forget about all the above BS.

By the way both aluminum and steel rims can be either hub or lug centric.

From everything I’ve read, current gen and likely second gen OEM Toyota rims are hub centric and for the OEM steel wheels I have perhaps lug centric as well since it appears they have the 60 deg tapered lugs (I’ve read, haven’t pulled a wheel yet myself so may not be correct).
Many posts say OEM is hub centric, others lug centric, I think these post have it right that it’s hub centric and that’s why a lot of posts say to get a hub spacer ring for aftermarket rims that come with larger hub holes than the OEM hub:

6lug steel balancing - lug or hub centric?

6lug steel balancing - lug or hub centric?

    also this:

Im still learning about my Tacoma, I would have to drop my spare to know for sure but it appears to be the same steel wheel as my stock steel SR rims.

I bought four OEM spare steelies and ran them with winter tires for 5 winters with no issues. They're hubcentric (as in the center bore fits over the hub register with no slop). I used new conical seat lugnuts.

The "temporary use" sticker is CYA for use of shank-style lugnuts on the steel wheels (very small seat contact area), and for absence of TPMS sensor in the spare (it's a required safety feature by federal regulation for the unwashed masses).

That makes sense. My SR has OEM steel wheels and I have yet to confirm but have read and just looking at them I’m pretty sure they are the conical seal lugs and would be fine with the steel spare.

My 2020 Sport had a 17" spare. Maybe there's some unlucky OR owner from your dealership that has a 17" spare?

Could be a mid-year cost-cutting change a la aux transmission cooler.

Just checked under my 2021 sport (Canada), it's the 16" spare with the 245/75R16

I'm looking at getting a 5th wheel with a matching tire and calling it a day
