Know the feeling… got same news. Good friend has same and has has surgery on cervical, thoracic, lumbar and has hip issues. Did fusions that didn’t take, has rods, etc. I go to him for advice when doctors recommend… he has a futon mattress on the floor and decides what days he will participate in.

    Back to work today.
I've been feeling like quitting this place for some time now. Tell them to pack sand but know I'd be packing the sand into my own:anonymous:
    Possibly.
Seems like they kind of got me where they want me and know it. I don't like that feeling one bit.
I'm going to put on my smiley face and go to morning meeting now.
    Goodmorning crew :pccoffee:

Been there. Good for you for sticking it out. No reason you can be looking for something else though.

In the meantime, it’s paying the bills and it’s a known job. Is there anything you can negotiate with them? Not showing all you cards/grievances but maybe a bump up in pay, something else that might make it more satisfying?

Good morning everyone :hattip:. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

It had one of them 20' paint jobs on it, looks good from 20' away. Up close it looked like my kids painted it with a brush.

I've tried a bit to leverage that option of pay bump but don't think that will happen. Person I spoke to on that matter give typical manager run around.
Thing is that I've had a supervisor job as a goal for a very long time. Have interviewed for the position no less than 6 times. Even applied for lateral jobs a few times and interviewed for those. They don't want to let me out of the shop because of the magic I've done in there. The last time I interviewed for supervisor position (late last year) I told them my knowledge is not going anywhere this way.
Yes, I've been searching for another job and hope something comes through.
My birthday this month on the 24th also marks my 18th year anniversary at this place.
Not many other employers around where I can come in and work a Sunday and gross $800.00

I hear ya. I’m in a similar situation working on pulling the retirement trigger in the next 5 or so years.

Sometimes adopting the belief “work is work” gets me through some of the tougher days..

    Good luck

    Surprisingly, standard is black:

But when you add the convenience package (which we did)...
