I'll be pulling the race truck into the garage in a few weeks to attempt a rod bearing swap with the engine in the truck. First event is March 1st, aiming to have it there.

Nice truck. Any more pics of different angles? And did you weld or use the SOS kit for the rear sway brackets?

Did you have to notch the frame to fit the 3" blocks? Majority of the taco owners say i will need to notch the frame to install a 3" block but i have seen a couple of guys say they installed a 3" block no notch. Any input would be appreciated. 2009 Tacoma 5 lug

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy AF with work and i gotta figure out my “notifications” for tacoma world! SOS kit bolts on. You’ll have to use the xru rear sway links instead of the one supplied by SOS.

i haven’t knotched the frame and only bottoms out when i carry a load or hitting a bump at 50+ mph. my ride quality in 3”/3” is quite comfortable! i’m still using oem bilsteins up front and qa1 at rear. i recently tried a 4” lowering block. definitely need to knotch the frame. i bottom out leaving the driveway.

    Thanks JT.
I have been looking for someone to let me know if the 3" block needs notch and ride quality. I really want to stay away from notching the frame.
Last question did you change out the front and rear bump stops?
Going to place and order today for 3" drop struts and 3" blocks I am thinking of running the monroe ma-777 rear air shocks to lift the rear when i add some light loads in the bed. A couple of members said the ma-777 will fit with minor modifications. Thanks again for answeing my questions im new to the 2nd gen street truck game. Your truck looks great. Thats exactly the stance i am looking for.
