So I have this lift pictured below. Just recently my right leaf pack (I think) is making a hellacious noise... it sounds like it is binding up for lack of better words. If you are easy to moderate on the gas you won't hear it. If you slam the gas it feels like something moves back and slams. Put it in reverse and you get the exact opposite reaction. It's for sure directional.

Anyone ever experience this? Everything seems to be tight and what not, but I am not a mechanic... truck goes in Tuesday, but if someone has a quick fix I might be able to tackle it this weekend and save some bucks.

    Thanks all

Have you re-torqued suspension since install? How many miles since install?

Well, that needs to be done after about 400 miles on new suspension components, especially leaf spring ubolts.

I will get out the torque wrench this weekend, I feel that is something I can handle. Any idea of what to torque to?

And I will say that the shop who did the work never told me about this. Granted I wasn't impressed with them anyway and do not plan on going back

It wont hurt, but at this point that ship has sailed. If it were my truck, id buy new ubolts , after making sure everything else is ok.

Ya know I wondered if dirt and so forth could get in there. This will be easy to test out also! Thanks!

I had my mechanic put on my leaf springs. He even told me what was in the instructions from yhe manufacturer, come back and we'll re-torque and check everything.

Yeah, I wish the place I had put it on was a lot better than they were.... They really promote themselves heavily and seem reputable until I got there to drop it off and realized their specialty is Rough Country spacer lifts.... I am going to get this issue resolved, and then go to a guy I just found that actually knows what he is doing, for a checkup on everything.

An update as of today: Everything is tight to specs. I stopped by the trusted offroad place (really small shop) and they immediately had suggestions after being under the truck for 30 seconds. My outer leaf is sliding side to side, he said to take it home and do the power wash method mentioned above here. If that does not work it is a problem from the manufacturer. Onto that... these are all pro leafs and a quick search on this site comes up with tons of the same issue... If the greasing and lubing does not help I might be in the market for better leafs in the near future.

Is the bolt holding the leaf spring together tight? i had a similar issue on dakars where the leafs were shifting side to side and making a clunking sound

1st gen here but when I self installed my Deaver leaf springs and started to torque the new U bolts to 90ft. pounds (at ride height NOT in the air) it took forever while criss-crossing to tighten everything up evenly. It took so many passes I started to question my wrench which was a brand new Tekton 1/2" drive on loan from a coworker. To verify the wrench worked I increased the torque value to 115 for the front hanger pin and that clicked with perceivably less effort. Back down to 90 foot pounds for the U bolts and eventually they all clicked. I did re-torque after about 100 miles and they have been issue free since install early 2021.

Did you grease the inserts that go into the leaf spring bushings? I wonder if the steel inserts are binding on the poly bushings when the leaf flexes under compression from acceleration. That would be where I looked first as there shouldn't be any movement anywhere else on the rear axle. The Leaf stays put due to the U joints on the axle so check that those are torqued down properly. I would focus on the shackles and the leaf spring bushings.

Disagree with that image. I would not install a poly bushing dry into the leaf spring eyelet. Grease that too for sure.

Everything is tight I am told. Here's a pic of the leaf that has shifted. Seems to be popular with all pro from all my research.
