Camp Lighting?

What kind of Camp Lighting are people on here running? By camp lighting I mean light systems to light up camp or to do certain activities around your truck like cook and stuff.

I was thinking about getting magnetic LEDs that I can attach where need be, like on my roof rack or bed. Also considering running LED PODs on my roof rack that I can wire to a switch. Open to suggestions and ideas though!

 

I'm not fancy, I just use rechargeable headlamps

 

I have a string of led lights that run of usb that inhave beem uaong for ambient light noce warm glow.

Milwaukee m18 spot light for night trail runs and m18 laterns for when a brighter light is needed for the task.

With all lighting options i want the least light needed. An if i can get by with no light then so much the bettee

 

I think Im gonna run a magnetic flood light for tasks and general lighting. Can you link the string light you are using? I also wanted something like that that I can run across a camp for some ambient lighting

 

No ones I have are not linkable. Ot os an easy feature to.add, so if I had to guess it's to keep current draw to a reasonable level

Simple solution os a second string in different spot, but honestly never felt the need. I even ended up giving second set away to a buddy in my offroad group

All the lighting I've ever needed and with the magnet I can stick it under the truck for hands free working if need be, or anywhere that's ferrous.

Head lamp or good old fashioned Coleman gas lantern.

 

I have three Baja designs S2s on all sides of my cap on the rack with the switch inside the bed. Run amber colors to keep the bugs down. Works great.

 

I wanted to do something similar with pods on the rack but figured theyd look off but since those bajas are a little more low profile might be a viable option

 

Yea i always have a headlamp on me but also want something thats not as directional

 

Going camping this weekend so Im gonna test this cheap Amazon one to see how it does as a work/flood light. Maybe find some string lights and eventually some sort of light system on my roof rack.

This is the best picture I have right now that shows where they are and how they look. They definitely don’t look out of place, especially with the RTT up there. But that tent is about to come off and I’m not worried about them looking out of place. Don’t forget any BD lights you buy to go through @memario1214 No use paying more than you have to.

I keep it simple with a couple solar inflatable lanterns, a small work light, and a headlamp. Sometimes I use candles

good idea for a thread, i’d like to perfect my camp lighting.

 

I've got a small rechargable work light from harbor freight that doubles as a charger for small electronics. Also use a couple cheap headlamps.

 

These little inflatable lights, for the price, are amazing. I have 3 of them I keep in my dash. I use them all the time when I’m out with the truck. One of them and a good headlamp is all you need for cooking. I also have ssc1s mounted up top on a dedicated switch for other activities but I honestly use them mostly at home when working in the back yard at night.

 

Trailer markers used as puddle or rock lights. Cost me 10 bucks plus a switch and a bit of wiring.

Low draw, each light pulls 0.2 watts, can be ran all night without draining the battery.
Does not blind or cause harsh shadows.
Does not invite insects into your bed or cook station.
Preserves your night vision.
Does not annoy your neighbors.

I've seen people get similar effects with using string lights. I'm a big fan of many low powered lights over one or two high powered lights. They seem to distribute it more effectively.

 

Damn nice, will have to look into trailer markers.

 

I like the idea of cheap magnetic/inflatable lights I can move around if need be and that also have decent light output, ill have to check those out.
