Okay, truck repairs are over, and I’m sitting pretty with new suspension. On to more important things — speakers!!

I’ve been mulling over a few 6.5 comp sets for a while (Focal, Hertz, Audison, Morel), but I like the BIGGER mid-bass of a good 6x9. Hence this thread.

    My ideas,

1 - Morel Tempo Ultra 692 MkII. It’s been a while since I’ve heard Morel gear, but I think I remember positively. I like the “laidback” description on Morel tweeters, I also like the 6x9. Depth is a concern. They come in at 3 7/16”. I’ve measured with my existing door mounts, I’m bang on that, maybe a 32nd of an inch to spare. https://www.morelhifi.com/product/tempo-ultra-2-way/

2 - CDT Audio Wideband 3C. Depth is good, I’d have 1/4” to spare. Wideband is nice as well, brings the soundstage out of the wheel well. I’ve never heard CDT stuff before, just what I’ve read, which has been positive.https://www.cdtaudio.com/main_series/wideband/wb_systems/wideband3d.php

3 - Audison APK 690. Audison has been on my short-list for years, but finding legit sources in Canada is hard. I now have a dealer close to me that I can source a set from, without losing my firstborn.https://www.audison.eu/products/prima_apk690_system/

Anyone have other ideas? Or recommendations from the list above?

I bought the CDT wide band set, but haven’t installed them yet. Hopefully soon if I can get an evening free. I went with these for the same reasons you stated in your description. I’ve ran a few other CDT speakers over the years and have been really happy with them.

I have not run the other two options you listed so I can’t comment on those.
