Just a heads up unless you don't want to tune by AFR, you'll need a WB1 as well and they're $300. I'd personally use a 550 on your car and forget about the knock sensor. It's the only thing you'll lose and if you run a safe tune it won't matter

    A 550 is a little over 1k... wouldn't I be stupid to not spend $200 more on a 750 or $600 more on a 1500

So I know this isn't exactly the same, but my experience is similar enough I feel I need to share.

At work I'm constantly fighting high temps. Technically our oil doesn't start breaking down until about 250* but we like to keep it at about 130* max because when it's that hot, the hydraulic lines that the operator is handling, will burn the shit out of them when its any hotter.

From an oil temp perspective there are two ways to tackle the issue... one, add more capacity. Two, add enough coolers and increase the cfm of air across those coolers. All of our competitors do it the higher capacity way, because it's waaaayyy cheaper to just build a larger tank and add a higher qty of oil to absorb the heat, compared to adding a cooler and fan. Compared to our competitors, we use much less oil in our system but usr a much larger cooler and electric fan to keep the oil temp around 130*

Your tacoma without adding an additional cooler is 10qrts and the stock fan produces a min of 5000CFM (guessing cause my ford 302 measured 10,000cfm) across the radiator. Our smallest unit has a capacity of 20 qrts but only moves 2100CFM with the electric fan. Pressure produces heat and we normally run at 1500-1800psi. Not sure what the tacoma PS pump produces but I'd assume somewhere around 1500.

I'm rambling but my TLDR point is that the orientation you mount it for inlet vs outlet should not matter because in my particular real world example with our compact unit, under the hardest conditions, were never going hotter than 149* at the inlet side and only 105* at the hose end were someone might actually touch it.

Another TLDR : My belief is your cooler would be just fine if you rotated it 90* so it fit

Lol I said it lived up to the same level of cheese as the first one. The first was one of the cheesiest movies of all time imo. It's definitely worth seeing for the flying scenes. They went all out for those, the story was pretty weak but so was first one

750 is a 550 for V6. No additional features but it has more ignition and injection outputs. Technically since you're using a distributor you only need one ignition output, even the 550 is overkill and you'll have extra outputs you can use for other things. Like I said you'll still need to spend $300 for a WB1 which is the CANBUS wideband controller for the haltech

I don't think either has or will win the Academy Award for Best Picture. I enjoyed them for the flight scenes. Top Gun Maverick is worth watching on the Big screen just for those. Who really believes that Maverick would still be a fighter pilot at his age, nope not in a million years, but hey its Hollywood and six guns can fire 14 times without a reload, and F14's can take off with a 2000 ft runway.

I plan on doing coil near plug If not coil on plug since since its just such a better way to do it than the funny business with the igniter, coil, lead, cap, rotor, leads

    But I didn't know that about 550 vs 750

I looked into and understand the purpose of WB1 now

Just kinda sucks that all the shit I just bought (distributor, ignition wires, o2 sensor) serves no purpose

i don’t want to use 1/4. Just didn’t know if some were 1/8th w a 1/4 hoop or something like that. If 1/8 is fine I’m going the bare min. Plus 1/4 dom is expensive as shit.

I saw it took 3 days for Rory to get in and recover a pickup from that fiasco. Such a mess. I get pretty jumpy when I see rain clouds in the desert. This is a rare event all things considered but it has happened in the past, will happen again and it has killed plenty of folks. Thankfully no one was killed in this one from what I saw.

I believe it, scary as hell since it just creeps up on you suddenly.

Been through 1 flash flood and a few nasty sand storms that seriously occurred without warning. It put us down for several days but fortunately all was well and no one got hurt.

Got a call this morning to start full time at this manufacturing company, that's cool.

Waiting to hear on another company that I expect to pay much better though. :burp:

Had taken a few weld tests with a few places.
