Anybody know the exact lift height in the front if you install the coil overs without making any adjustments?

For my set I found it to be 2" on one side and 2-1/4" on the other out of the box. When I measured the amount of thread showing out of the box, one had 1/8" more than the other which made sense with a motion ratio of 0.54 for our lower control arms (to create that 1/4" difference). I thought at first they did this for Tacoma lean but there was no labelling on the coil overs to say which side they go on so its probably just a factory variance by the worker who put the coil overs together. Have a look at post #830 and #833.

Question...is it just the people who raised the lift from the set height out of the box who are topping out? Or is this an everyone issue?

I drove around a fair bit (but did not off road) with the out of box settings (2") and did not top out. Lots of tall abrupt speed bumps; some long gradual speed bumps (that I took at a decent speed); pot holes; shitty highways with bad expansion joints that are almost like washboards...no issues at all. Lowered it to 1.5" and drove for another couple days and got it aligned. Definitely no issues at this height. Have had the Eibach system on for a week with a good 500km on them already. So far, I'm loving this upgrade.

I think you're right, might be guys trying to go above the 2.5" specified range that are having issues.

I topped out when I installed at preset height. Today I lowered the coilover and added ¼” spacers on top. No more topping out and much smoother ride.

They look pretty sweet. Seems to be like a $225USD upcharge for the 2R kit. I don't think I would of paid it if was an option when I bought a couple weeks ago. I wouldn't really put them to use...they would just be eye-candy on my truck which is ok too! The only off roading I do is maybe a 20 min drive onto a frozen lake in winter to get to a fishing spot. I don't think I need to worry about overheating and shock fade in that scenario.

I hope to hear some reviews/feedback from others who get it though.

Just had some uca’s installed. Noticed the drivers side boot on the ball joint isn’t flush with the spindle. Is that normal? Everything is tight. 2377AFAE-59F4-4C66-A808-AF6B363A2ADF.jpg

any problems with running the 1/4 spacer? I'd like to do the same thing to avoid the topping out but I'm getting contradicting answers on if that could cause problems or not. Surely 1/4 of an inch can't be too problematic...

I just installed airbags with Daystar Cradles and have a couple of questions:
    1) Yoga Mat --> Did you just cut a round piece and place it in the cradle or did you secure it somehow?
    2) Do you keep a certain amount of air in each bag even when the bed is empty ?

    Thanks !

    1) yes, and attached with rubber silicon. Make sure to cut holes in the mat for water, pebbles and dirt to fall thru. The cradles have the holes and you can use as a template.

    2) about 8 pumps from a handheld bike pump that is about 9” long. I estimate this around 10psi

Little of this, little of that.
Im thinking of doing a very similar setup. Do you have a factory rake with this setup of about 1” or so higher in the back? This is what I’m wanting to achieve. I’m planning on stage 1 deavers.

Also are you using the Eibach rear shocks? From everything I read it says you can only do a 1.5” max lift.

Yes I have a little rake with Stage 2 Deavers and 300-350lbs of weight. I have the Eibach rear shocks as well and even Eibach runs more than 1.5" on their demo truck from I have heard. Topping out (if it happens in back) is not as bad as bottoming out. I have the sumo springs that I was on since I bought the cap and the leafs sagged as extended bumps. I have had the the truck overloaded numerous times recently hauling stuff to the lake house and it rides nice empty or overloaded with my setup. It might be a little stiff on stage 2s W/out at least a couple hundred pounds though. I had a ton of rake when first installed but they settled in about a week to almost 2" lift exactly (even though I'm a little light for stage 2s).

So I just ordered the full stage 2 kit and stage 1 Deaver expedition leaf springs!!

What’s the verdict on using lean spacers? I’ve seen arguments both ways, on one hand you don’t need them because you can make the adjustments with the shock, on the other hand if you use a lean spacer then you will have the same pre-load on both shocks (need longer bolts) giving a more even shock response.
