2002 tacoma sr5 loud unlock and lock alarm

I have a 2002 sr5 tacoma, I get home very late from work and I don’t want to wake anyone. Is there a way to turn off the lock and unlock alarm. I’ve seen people say they put tape around it. Is that the only solution to the loud alarms? Thanks

 

Techstream might be an option, not sure if 02 is new enough. But there's a ton of options with most Toyota made vehicles. I have turned that setting down on multiple Toyota cars.

 

No need to cut the wire, you can just unplug the connector and wrap it in electrical tape. It should be located driver side, under the hood on top of the wheel well.
