Geesh this thread be rolling right along lately. At work it seems my cell reception doesn't work well after 6 AM or so. I kind of wonder if the tower just doesn't get overwhelmed. Anyways that makes it difficult to keep up.
Finished a couple of those prep jobs this AM, just needed to put parts in a storage location and note that in time confirmation. Then went to shop and had new guy start machining on legs for the top half of that pump case we need to machine the weld build up off. I'll just get it close to the parting line (say touch off with sheet of paper) then stone the last little bit. I don't want to be the guy explaining how the fly cutter got too deep and we need to redo the weld process. I'll take some photos as that work progresses.
I went to cut up a large ramp that was built 6 or so years ago then it just got dumped off in the machine shop. Been a nuisance to me ever since, but I really grown tired of picking up others loose ends. Bunch of BS. Anyways I go to get the metal cutting circular saw from tool crib and someone has lost pieces to it:censored: I machined a new spacer for the blade but just guessed the size and it didn't work...more:censored:
I'll redo it tomorrow then get that dang thing cut up so they can free-release it to the metal scrap.
This afternoon I had training to assist operations at the start of outage.

It was geared tall too (touring gears:confused:), years later I got a 15 speed mountain bike, I could pedal for all I was worth in top gear and still not make any speed.

The old Schwinn just rolled -- until you came to a hill that is, between the weight and low gear not being low enough, hills were tough. :bananadead:

    1. We weren’t sure what was going on with it
    2. It just broke this morning
    3. We didn’t want to work on something you might have started.

Those are some cool parts n projects @XPOTRPR
Goodmorning crew. Makes me want for some 21st century tools. All manual machines where I work but we have submitted a request for a CNC Mill.
I hope that they can allow me some time to finish some of yesterday's started projects. They have me assigned miscellaneous PM's with another guy. That could be anything from greasing a pump to taking oil samples.
Maybe the boss man have someone else machine a part for that saw and cut up that ramp:rolleyes:

Mornin gents. Just stopping by with more mechanical/electrical carnage.
First off is our 150hp chipper motor that decided it wanted to be a 480v arc welder. Surprisingly the motor survived!

Next up for your viewing pleasure is a 90 degree gearbox that doesn't really do the whole spinning thing anymore.

Fun time at the sawmill with @BananaMan

People don't realize when you buy a piece of lumber everything behind the scenes that goes into it, from the time it's fell to the time it's bought.

So, if you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem?
