Hey you guys, where I live there’s stop light at the top of a good size hill. It’s steep enough that my truck rolls backward a little if I take my foot off the break. A couple of times right before I hit the gas there’s a rather disturbing noise. Really hard to describe the noise but it sounds a bit crunchy lol. If I don’t let it roll it doesn’t do it. Anybody experience the same thing and should I be concerned?!

My 2016 OR does the same thing at one hill in my town where I always get stuck at the light. I just bought the truck a few months ago from someone on here and it scared the shit out of me the first time I heard it.

Same! I’ve had mine 4 months and had many other trucks and cars that don’t make that sound so when I heard it I cringed out loud lol

Like they said above, its the computer activating the brakes/ ABS module to keep you from rolling back too much. Either two foot it on that hill or make the brake > gas transition faster haha

Never heard any noises like that yet from my truck, and i've stop on some pretty steep hills....truck will start rolling back if i don't bring up the idle speed. My gen1 tundra did the same.

i figure even if it’s “normal” if not letting it roll backward saves my ears from hearing that s*#t I’m fine with that lol

Sounds like it is incumbent to the OR/Pro brake system. My limited doesn’t roll back no matter how steep the hill is…and definitely no noise other than octane knock when I get going from a stop.
