I was looking at either the Flowmaster FLOWFX
    or
    Flowmaster American Thunder

I found a dyno sheet for the Flow but can’t seem to find anything on the American Thunder.

Also off topic but any advice or comments on the B&M Precision SportsShifter would be welcome.

I have a flowmaster fx extreme and it sounds really deep and good. Its cut off before the axle so its not extremely loud outside the cab but man when you’re on the highway that thing is loud.

I wouldn’t bother with any exhaust system besides the urd spec-u. Most bolt on systems will only yield marginal performance gains, and sound is subjective. The spec-u removes the rear cats and gets you an equal length y-pipe section with better than factory clearance.

I also have the flo-fx. I like the sound it is doesn’t have the raspy sound and has a deep burble between shifts. It does have some mild drone but its not terrible. It is just personal preference on the sound and this isn’t a V8.

Are we talking about the flow FX turndown kit or the full length kit?

I have the full kit exiting on driver and passenger sides. So I can’t speak on the turn down kit. I would imagine the trun down to be a bit louder.

I just picked up a brand new flowfx for $50. So I'm just gonna build my own turn down kit. But, I am a little worried about the decibel level. May get a resonator to put directly before the flowfx.

I have read that the resonator helps with the drone. I’m fairly happy with mine the sound in the cab isn’t too bad.

Flow through resonators help with rasp for the most part but if you have drone you need to download a sound measuring app, pinpoint the offending frequency and build an accordingly sized helmholtz resonator.

Yeah...I'm just gonna slap a resonator right in front of the flow master and dump it after that. I just don't want to sound like a total douchebag when I drive through my neighborhood.

I have the Flowmaster FlowFX turndown. It's fairly loud compared to stock. But if that's what you're looking for then it's perfect. I just posted this comparison video. https://youtu.be/rwcvZViIbtY

I purchased the flowfx. My only concern is the gasket at 45 k on the original I suspect the gasket will not be reusable any thoughts?

Catbacks don't add horsepower. Only performance exhausts that delete cats add horsepower but then it's only marginal

Intakes and exhausts are supplemental mods for forced induction or high HP builds. Even with a tune, do not expect to gain much with exhaust or intake because most of the HP gain is from the tune itself. The exception is if you go full length headers, then yeah, you might see some meaningful gains.

Exactly. All the people that buy intakes and exhausts for power modifications is a joke. URD makes stuff that will gain performance but a tune will still make more of a difference
