Hello, having a problem where I can't shift out of park without pressing the override. All fuses are good, replaced the brake switch under the brake, brake lights work... Ive look through the forums and can't seem to find this issue exactly. Saw some where the override doesn't work either and points to solenoid but wondering if my issue may be different?

If the brake lights lights work I think the next step is to dig into the console down by the shifter and see if release mechanism is getting a command.

One of these guys should have a schematic

    Ditto above.

Drawing: NOTE: The White Wire with Black Stripe that goes off screen is the ground wire.

The shift lock ECU also interfaces with the transmission Park/Neutral switch, be sure to also check it is receiving the proper signals from there.

Thanks for the info! I'll be digging into this soon. I forgot to mention that I can start the truck without pushing the brake. From reading the info it looks to be the shift lock control ECU.

You shouldn't have to push the brake to start the truck anyway, that generally only applies to vehicles with push button start instead of key start. Lots of good info above to troubleshoot the system.

Do you have power on pin 1 (Pink) with the key on?

I just looked more closely at the testing chart and they have the terminal numbers wrong, the designations are correct though.

Ok, here's the proper designations according to the wiring diagram.

Pin 1 (Pink) Ignition power (12v with key in run)
Pin 6 (Grey) Accessory Power (12v with key in accessory or run)
Pin 7 (Blue) Brake switch input (12v with brake depressed)
Pin 8 (White/Black) Ground (0v at all times)

Seems you have everything there it should need to release the park lock, sounds like either the solenoid failed or the shift lock ECU failed.
I'm unsure if they are one unit or separate units as my truck has a manual.
