Hey guys, new to the group. This is my daily driver and I hit the trails every weekend. I desperately need to upgrade my suspension. Thinking Ironman4x4 FCPs or a Dobinson kit. Plenty of constant weight in front (200lb ish) and rear (500lb) but don't necessarily need anything rated "heavy duty". I'm totally a novice when it comes to suspension so your guy's help and input would be much appreciated!IMG_20220713_211308_963.jpg

Nice truck!! What's on there now?

I've got all the Dobinsons bases covered. Do you have a lift height in mind?

@Crikeymike TBH I'm not really sure. It's whatever was on there when I bought the truck last year. Always assumed it was stock but it does look a little lifted. I don't need more than 2.5-3"

What do you mean by “desperately need to upgrade my suspension”. What’s wrong with the existing one? Knowing your goals will help people make meaningful recommendations.

@gudujarlson maybe desperate was an exaggeration but I'm sagging quite a bit and some piece of mind on the trails would be nice.

What sort of peace of mind are you looking for? What are you worried about? Maybe you just need a couple brewskis. ;)

@gudujarlson you're right bro. I should just drink and drive and just fuggin' send it, huh? Maybe you can explain the advantages of blowing my suspension and over loading my rig to me?

Chill. It was a serious question with a bit of light hearted humor.

Why are you worried about damaging your suspension? You are well within the published capacities for your truck. I was wondering if you were getting stuck due to clearance limitations, your springs were broken, your shocks were blown, you were riding your bump stops, or otherwise getting to the limits of your truck.

If you can give us a better idea of what weaknesses you see in your current suspension, we can give you better recommendations. Otherwise you’ll just get randos saying they installed this or this and it made their truck super extra awesome.

@gudujarlson with a light hearted return

If I'm sagging like crazy in the back I feel like that's enough reason to consider it. Like I said in the original post though, I'm a total noob. I would truly rather be safe than sorry.

It’s normal for springs to decrease in length when weight is applied to them.
