Random Thursday question: Is there something like this for first gens? (the "3a" metal portion just at the bottom of the bumper)

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Off the shelf most likely not. If you searched and could not find anything.

Having one custom made would not be hard. It All comes down to how bad you need to have something like this. $$$$$

    What "3A metal portion"

You mean the license plate bracket? Looks like it just attaches just outside the fairlead and could be specific to that mall crawler bumper.

Be easy to make really and incorporate it to your own bumper if you've got a winch on it.

I think you're asking if anyone makes a winch mount that's integrated into the 1st gen stock bumper. I believe there is.. Or maybe it was a custom fab I have seen- but I have seen something recently.

Seeing how damn ugly the new rigs are, makes me happy to still have my 1st gen.

    Ahh I get it now.

    Yeah, easy.

AMP'D Up LLC, forget his name...Albert? Super cool guy and he's really active on FB.

One man shop, but he churns shit out quick.

Bought one for the 4Runner (never installed it) but damn was he fast. He texted me a tracking number literally within an hour or 2 of purchasing it through his website and I got it 2 days later.

That wasn't the one I was thinking of, but it sure looks nice! The price is extremely reasonable too!

That looks really Fawking clean, but that’s considered a hidden winch mount.

What Op is referring to is concidered a “low pro” bumper, where you just cut out the middle section of the bumper. Very common and popular on 3rd gens.

    I'm familiar with 3G's lo-pro bumpers.

It's just the way the OP worded it that it came off confusing.

Yes, what I posted is a hidden winch mount.

Just giving the OP an idea of really the only thing available that doesn't completely replace the whole bumper; just due to the design of 1G bumpers it wouldn't make sense to make or offer something like what's offered for a 3G.

He/she could just have something made, and go to town on their own bumper if they really wanted to.

Yup, I didn't quite know how to word it. Basically remove the lower middle section of the tacoma front bumper and have a nice strong metal insert.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
That's a Body Armor steel winch bumper. For the first gens, I have only found full bumpers. Do a search online for "2000 Tacoma steel winch bumper" and you will see plenty of options!

edit: oof! Y'all hate the 3rd gen..lol. "Ugly" "mall crawler". I guess I should post pictures of the truck at the mall next time.
