Game Changing LCAs (BTFFabrication)

My next upgrade is the modified tundra rack, and fully heimed steering. Add this to the mix and the RCVs, I think I’m solid.

 

I want these; got money burning in my pocket. I'm in if there is ever a group buy.

I also messaged BTF who owns them, DRT who’s testing them, and designed.by.moran who drafted them up. Just to ask about how they are going to affect the distance between the CV and the shock lower, not a single peep from anyone.

 

I am quite excited for these because of the geometry, but I hope they aren’t vaporware.

If the lower ball joint is moved forward 0.75” then I would guess the CV shaft will get closer to the shock by about half that distance since the shock is about mid way along the CV shaft.

 

That’s my concern as I am already about 1mm from contact with the stock LCA’s, because of my RCV's. If the shock mount was just moved forward, should be problem solved, wish I could get an answer..

 

If whomever is making these, I'll test out a set if yall would like?? I'm real world testing and I'll give honest feedback.. 2013 w/4.0l 4wd.

 

Shock mount is moved forward, but did run into some clearance issues where things were tighter than ideal. So BTF is working on a rev2

 

That is killer to hear that they are working a fix. Thanks for that. My damn RCVs are so close it's ridiculous, I might unclamp and slide the boot.

At full droop its 1mm, this pic is at ride height. That's even after offset spacers.

 

That seems to be unique to King's fatter lower shaft fitting.

 

Just my .02 cents but id rather break a cv than grenade a diff..after those upgrades your diffs will be your weak link

 

Yup, my buddies (on 37s-40s) and I are all running stock cvs since we don't want to be a trail plug.

 

im on the website and not seeing these for 2nd gen. These are new lca correct or am i just being dumb. Seems like a great way to go to 35 or am i reading that wrong also

 

I don't think they are for sale as of now. Still in the testing stages.

 

I had the same confusion. I think they are still in the testing phase. It would be nice to have more information in the meantime.

The difference is just in one of the bushings. Guessing it just uses a standard size poly bushing.

Hey guys! They are being revised and still in the testing phase. Not entirely sure what the price point will be or what the JD kit you’re referring to is. And yes the only real difference between 2nd gen and 3rd gen LCA is the bushings.

 

JD Fab Kit requires removing the lower control arm mounting locations and rewelding new mounts ~1" forward. Plus some other benefits. But more work than just swapping the lower control arm as this product hopes to achieve. I assume the price would be in the same range.
