yeah... it can get.. messy. lol

For my 5 axis... its B and C.. B which rotates about Y.. and C which rotates about Z.

Our other 3 Axis with a Rotary Trunnion on the table, making it a 5 Axis has A and C. A which rotates about X.. and C which rotates about Z.

I feel ya.. pictures work better for me too.

5 axis. XYZ come from the spindle head and BC come from the table rotations.

3 + 2 axis. XY come from the table. Z is from the spindle. AC is from the trunnion rotations.

Do they run in G code?

Our 3 axis mill does not, it is very conversational, one of our lathes is the same and one is G code. I've never learned G code, haven't had a reason to.

Yeah they run G code.. but you can do some conversational on them. basic stuff, but can be done still. The new Doosans we have are very much conversational based still, with an "ok" UI over it. HAAS is mostly their "nice" UI that makes them so nice and fancy.. but they're definitely a mid tier machine.. The Doosans are definitely a higher end machine with higher resolution.

At my first job one of the higher ups at the local Cat dealer wanted a go kart made up to look like the Cat Nascar.

That was a fun project. Every time his kid wrecked it and needed a new body.

I have one of these sitting in the garage somewhere, too. Haven't used it in at least 15 years. Always got looks when I did.

Take it for a test ride make sure you have output and full control.

Make sure it will work on the voltage you plan to use it on.

2 years ago Herbert and I put that new indoor coil in, he's been back to work on it several times. I had to send him a message this morning cause the cooler was on 50 degrees when I left at 6. He got us back up and running. I've ask him every single time he comes to work on it how much we owe him, he always says "I'll make you a bill". My wife insisted today and said you're leaving with a check, he said make it $300. She said that ain't gonna cut it, he said make it $500 and I'll figure you up a bill. Herbert is 74 now and still knows his stuff :D

Can we talk Bolt Bins for a second? I am looking to get some as my organizational skills have taken a beating here lately (like 40+ years if I am honest) and I am looking to throw some money at an actual solution vs. all in 1 drawer method currently employed. I waste more time and money looking for stuff, or overbuying something I already have, but can't find when needed.

I've been looking at McMaster-Carr and Uline for products, does anyone have a place they think I should look as well?

    Thanks.

We can talk about anything, I would like to learn about bolt bins too. I need to do something.

We talked about them not long ago but not sure if we figured anything out :anonymous:

When I bought it it was on sale (I want to say about $50?) and was cheaper than the regular Nelson traveling sprinkler. :D

Good recommendation, their 72 bin is $40 cheaper than McM-C before shipping.

    Thanks.
