    answering just to answer.

    a PE helps. a lot!! it pushes you automatically into the highest paid bracket. HOWEVER, a CA PE is different. you have 3 tests. the standard 8-hour the entire country particpates in, and there is a survey section, and a Seismic section. i had to take a seismic class, because coming from a Texas school, i never took a single course about the topic. no, not even a single discussion about the topic.
