Yeah. Everyone that I know is divorced or going on their second attempt.

Mine is on her first AT (CVT) and will be going for another. Things sadly changed there.

Yeah. The chunks were not big deal. Only a few frags have been reported here from some really bad ideas in slick stuff.

Yeah, not a fan of those CVT transmissions. They always sound like they are stressed out.

I can't stand to drive it. Made a boring car out of a fun and potent engine.

Honestly, you could get away with reusing them as long as you use a torque wrench. I did that when I swapped the T case fluid the second time.

That said, when I did my driveline fluids early on, I just bought the ones shown in the 1st Post:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017V4BAXI

    They worked great.

Also! Leave the T case fluid alone. I would not touch that until 90k, at least.

Do most people use the toyota fluid in the T case?

In the manual it says 75W LF can't seem to find anything other than the Toyota in that exact spec.

Anyone have any problems running same fluid as the transmission like redline MT90 or Amsoil 75w90

I’m very curious about this. It’s the only fluid I haven’t changed yet and it’s pricey…

The truck cost around $40k -- quit fretting about saving a dollar, buy the correct fluid and call it a day.

    o_O

In my experience there are companies making fluid that are equal or better than oem.

For this application I haven’t found anyone that makes an equivalent or better fluid so when I do my tcase I’ll probably use Toyota.

But I’d like to find one so the initial question is a good one!

As far as “fretting” about money, every dollar counts in my book. Penny found is a penny saved and so on.

Also I didn’t pay 40k for my truck, much less in fact.

El bingo. I tell people this for any kind of car maintenance or repair. Plus it's a two-ton death trap. Treat it right.

Folks always ask about a "better" fluid when they should be concerned about using the correct fluid.
The products listed by the member I quoted are of high quality but don't meet Toyota specifications for the application.

"Fretting" was referring to the frequently heard folks who purchase an expensive truck and then add piles of dollars in wheels, lights, lifts, racks, winches, gear, bling, etc and then pitch a fit at the cost of one quart of oil.

Yes, those of us who purchased pre-pandemic got much better deals, every dollar counts to me as well. ;)

Knocked out the front & rear diff this past Saturday. Mostly smooth, except for whoever torqued the rear fill and drain plug to 1000+lbs. I bought refillable squeeze-packs and it made the process quicker than I expected. Also, old gear oil smells like moldy onions.

Where did you get the refillable squeeze packs? That sounds like a great idea!

    Redline's website calls for MT-LV70W/75W GL-4 for the t-case, not MT90.

Figured I may as well add to this thread.

For a reference point that might be helpful to others, I drained and filled my diff oil at 7919 miles and this is what it looked like.

I also threw AmsOil in mine and thankfully has never been sparkly since the initial break in.
