    What up y’all,

I was curious if anyone had their new Tacoma ordered during the peak of COVID. According to my dealer mine was delivered to the port (only about 100 miles away from my dealership) over a week and a half ago. I know there is a process that new vehicles need to go through (US customs) in order for them to be put on a carrier. With the delays in shipments and customs, is there any estimate (based on how long anyone else’s was in port) that I could expect it to be sitting in port before making its way to the dealership? Thanks for any info!

A day or a week or a month. Times are different depending on a million variables.

    Oh look, another mod....

I'm going to give you advice that all my CO's & Company 1st Sgt's used to give me when I was in the Army: Hurry up & wait.

It'll get there when it gets there. Relax.

I ordered mine in late July 2020. Car buying service from my credit union said three weeks before it comes through the port to Sandy Eggo, CA. 12 days later he called to make an appointment for the next Saturday when I inspected it and signed the paperwork at my CU. All told it was about 15 minutes from love at first site to driving away. August 15, 2020

I see a car carrier full of tacomas heading north at least once a week on the 15 freeway in socal so they're being pumped out. 4runners on the other hand have slowed down production a bit

Dude told me in July 2020 that if I woulda been looking in April they were nearly giving them away with the lockdowns and related unknowns. The truck I got was over $1k cheaper than the truck I spec’d online and he said at that time they weren’t sure if they would ever sell another vehicle. Parts were being grabbed and Toyota was putting together trucks in the most sought after styles and being shipped while the shelf parts lasted. He said they will take your order but it will never fill. I actually got the predator steps, black out kit and rear sideways collision prevention system which I didnt want for less than the online price without those options. My truck was destined for a local Toyota pimp but dude said he could grab it so I bit. Never looked back! Fuck that plague!
