How did you mount those recovery tracks to the side of your shell?

I got two aluminum strips from Home Depot, cheap... I think it was inch and a half wide. I then measure the height of the cap or as high as I wanted it and cut them up to length. Then, I drilled holes in either end of the strips and did the same with the cap/topper, propped them up with the traction boards and drilled holes on the aluminum strips so I could secure the boards (line up the holes of the boards). I then secure the strips with bolts and applied silicone to prevent water from coming in. Put in extra long bolts to hold the boards in place and used some plastic handle nuts to secure them.

    I hope this helps.

    Clean out your dirt traps!

I noticed some bubbling showing up on my front passenger quarter panel right next to the lower front of the door. As I inspected the area I opened the door an noticed the dirt trap and started pulling the leaves and pine needles. I then lifted the rubber cover up and noticed dirt caked in the trap.

    PXL_20220716_142654148.jpg

You'll need some simple tools to remove the dirt. I used a bent butter knife, a malleable piece of wire to scrape the dirt out, a thin nozzle (hose) for your shop vac- you'll definitely need a shop vac- a pick, and a rag.

Start picking at the dirt alas Shawshank Redemption, it's gonna be a while so grab a beverage.

    PXL_20220716_151758974.jpg

I think I removed about .50 LBS of dirt off the passenger side. The driver side didn't have as much dirt but the bubbling is more noticeable. I tapped the side wall looking for holes but didn't notice any, so I'm hoping I caught it in time.

You can also use a rag and floss the trap- feed it from the top through the bottom..yes, there's a bottom (pic above).

    PXL_20220716_155133980.MP.jpg

And finally, I used a water displacement and generously sprayed in the trap and underneath the trap where the water is supposed to escape.
