    Just loved the ice cream shop when I was a Kid. Camelot Ice Cream. Best hard cones money could buy. Soda’s & Malts we’re pretty descent too. A dollar sure went far then. :blahblah:

    We have dozens of ice cream parlors around here. But my favorites are Brusters, Graeters, Cold Stone Creamery and occasionally Baskin-Robbins.

    I don't eat much ice cream overall though

    Growing up we had a Mayberry ice cream parlor 15 min walk, or 5 min bike ride, from home. Used to go there for banana split sundaes...hadn't thought of that place in years. There was a Cardinal Drug Store next door, after ice cream you could go there and blow whatever change you had left on penny candy and bubblegum. It was pretty cool that the neighbor's son, about 12yrs or so older than me, became the pharmacist there. So we could go see Alan in the back at the drug counter and then get our candy. He was always real nice to us.
    My gosh those were such simpler times. 10-15 yrs old, we'd be gone all day long and no one knew where we were or what we were doing...and so long as you didn't get caught in any mischief, and were home for supper on time, nobody cared.
    Sorry for the walkdown memory lane. :oops:

    I grew up much the same. Nickle for a scoop of Thrifty ice cream. I saw the evil in the world when they raised the price to a dime for the first scoop and a nickle for every scoop afterward...bastages! Bicycles and bb guns.

    I even remember a donut truck for a few years. That guy was great and cutting edge. He even had a first year square body C10 with the caterer bed...all shiney stainless. Of course I didn't realize all that then, I just wanted a donut off a truck! That was about the time the milk trucks quit delivering.
