Story is a few years old, my aunt in between her many marriages lived next to a husband and wife, husband liked to get souped up and lay an ass whippin on his wife. Aunt was home one day, drunk husband from next door is banging on her door as hard as he can yelling for his wife. Aunt is yelling back she is not here. He redoubles his efforts and the door jamb starts splitting out, aunt turns and runs out the back door just as the front door busts open. As she runs out the back door, her chow Tiger runs in. Tiger was big for a chow, irritable as hell just the definition of a bad attitude , pissed off all the time dog. Aunt can hear screaming, growling and stuff crashing in the house as she runs around the house to run to the street. Just as she clears the corner of the house she sees drunk neighbor launch off the porch like Carl Lewis with Tiger hanging off his hamstring. Across the yard, angled out running down the middle of the street as hard as he could to the end of the block, turned left at the next street and went into overdrive, all the while Tiger is still firmly attached, his front legs wrapped around the guys leg and his back legs only hitting the ground every 10 feet or so and just gnawing his ass. Tiger showed up a few hours later like just another day in the hood. Cops tried to find the wife beater, but he decided to move on and not even tell his wife where he went.

Had a similar set of back neighbors last year, but not nearly as good of a story outcome.

Went on a off-road trip over a spring weekend and never saw either of them again. Other neighbor saw it all and turns out there was a whole shindig while I was gone... SWAT, negotiators, dude's in prison for a while now.

Get a police report and a buffer. Start with least abrasive and work my way up.

Good plan. Should work fine. It will end up looking better than before it was vandalized.

Start with a clay bar (or 2).

Spray paint isn't that thick, especially if it is the cheap stuff. Clay is good at removing paint from paint.

His vehicle was not a Chrysler, was it?
They have a fuel relay on the other side of the fuse block that goes bad and drains the battery. Happened to me. My mechanic built a bypass, put a fuel pump relay outside of the box, so we did not have to replace the whole box.

I just made a connection on my lunatic neighbors tonight. Previously, I thought that I had two... turns out they are the same one. I live in an apartment complex in the Denver area - it is a middle to slightly lower income complex that is a bit outdated, but is clean with a much more middle aged average tenant age with a number of families (my GF and I are early to mid 20's and we're definitely on the younger side of the population here). All of the buildings here are 3 stories tall.

I've been in two units since I've been here, starting in a one bedroom on the first floor and never heard a peep from any of my neighbors, including the people above me. When the GF moved in, we literally moved across the parking lot and up to the 3rd floor. Great we thought - more natural light, vaulted ceilings, and nobody walking right outside the bedroom and living room windows. I was worried when we moved that we might not have as good of neighbors, and unfortunately I was right. It always seemed like when I saw other people around the complex they were screaming at their kids, upset with their dogs, and just generally being unhappy people.

Now we're in our new unit, our neighbors across the hall are really nice and happen to be our age (and were happy that we were their age, not common in this place), and things seem good. It didn't take too long to realize that our downstairs neighbors would be the problem. Somehow we can hear them stomping around constantly BELOW us, yelling at their kids, slamming doors all of the time, blasting the TV, all of the above. I'm a bigger guy and I "learned" to walk quietly when we moved in here so we wouldn't disturb them since I've never lived above anyone before. So much for that courtesy.

The "other" one is this dude who drives a somewhat newer Taurus with UGLY 22's on it and comes into the complex later at night blasting his bass. Others do this from time to time, but don't seem to live here - picking up or dropping off others - with no regard for people trying to relax or sleep. We'll ignore the street racing on the road outside the complex and my stolen catalytic converter for now, as they are unrelated to this story.

Well tonight I see my downstairs neighbors leaving in the evening as I'm packing the truck to go camping this weekend. Since I'm ready to go back inside, I wait for them to walk down the narrow stairs first so I don't have to see/interact with them. I then get inside, look out the window, and see them open the garage that houses this Taurus that's always so disturbing. I can't believe they are the same person - how can people be so inconsiderate of those around them in so many different ways? I feel so bad for the people on the first floor who live below them. I get that this isn't anything compared to what others on this thread have dealt with, but I just needed to vent.

I'm totally non-confrontational, but I'm going to type up a note and tape it to this dudes garage door. I can't say anything about the noise they make below us, since I don't want to become a target or make things remarkably uncomfortable, but I can address the bass blasting late at night, as I'm sure half of the complex can hear it.

One of my happier days in my long-ago youth was the day I left apartment living. I had to get out, too many people have no consideration for others. (Does anyone anywhere build apartments with even a modicum of sound proofing?) I bought five rural acres out in the country, very wooded, very secluded. I put a mobile home on it and had no neighbors. I've since moved up some but avoiding neighbors has always been a goal of mine. I have more land now and never see a soul that I don't want to see - heaven.

I've had a couple of minor ones:

My first semester of college I lived in an older, smaller dorm building with a very lax RA so it was more like apartments with community bathrooms than a dorm. Two guys at the other end of the hall (Jock and Pot Head) had an ongoing disagreement that started with Pot Head playing loud music all night. Various escalating 'pranks' ranging from 'speaker wars' to piss pucks to super glued locks went back and forth for a few months and eventually ended when Pot Head put a used condom on Jock's door knob and Jock raged out on Pot Head. He never actually touched him but had him in a corner screaming at him from about 3 inches away that he would murder Pot Head if he ever so much as looked at him again. Things were calm for about a month after that until Pot Head straight up disappeared. Rumors started going around that Jock put Pot Head in the hospital, etc. Come to find out Pot Head hadn't been to a single class all semester and had a small grow op in his dorm room. He left because he thought the cops were onto him. He was right because we all learned about this when the cops came around asking everyone about him and if we knew where he was.

After that I moved into a cheap apartment. That place was entertaining but sketchy and had a LOT of activity for a relatively small complex (96 units). In the 3 years that I lived there we had several stolen cars abandoned at our complex (one involved in an armed robbery), drug busts were AT LEAST a monthly occurrence, the apartment office was broken into, someone was stabbed about 30 feet from my front door, two people were shot at businesses less than 1/4 mile away, and a manager from a business down the street was kidnapped from her house in the middle of the night and taken to the business to open a safe. Considering all of that I got off pretty light during my time there. I kept to myself and was never without a gun.

I had a guy who was clearly high confront me on the sidewalk because he didn't like that I backed into a parking spot that was perpendicular to the street (as opposed to pulling in front first). All I could do was laugh and keep walking as his buddy pulled him away. I had a holstered .38 in my hand under a jacket I was carrying and this guy thought it was a good idea to confront me over something so stupid.

Also had a lady bang on my door like she was trying to come through it just to complain about me parking in 'her spot'. I'm not a small guy, she was MAYBE 5 ft, 90 lbs, and there was no assigned parking at this complex. Again, all I could do was laugh and close the door in her face because I was holding a .45 in my other hand out of her sight. She wound up forging military orders to get out of her lease, trashing the apartment, then going AWOL. Military police showed up a couple of weeks later looking for her.

The guy I shared a stoop with sold drugs but was cool. I never had a problem with him and we drank beers together on the stoop once or twice. Someone looking for him knocked on my door at 2am once. I wound up having to flash a gun at the guy to get him to go away because I was pretty sure he was going to force his way in if I didn't. Told the neighbor what happened and he apologized and moved units a couple weeks later. Turned out it was Baby Momma's brother.

These days all I have to worry about is a neighbor who has threatened to sue me for part of the cost of a road he built across an easement on some property I own. Just to be safe I paid a real estate lawyer to verify whether I had any liability and found out that the easement wasn't recorded properly and he technically does not have a legal easement to the ~$300k house he built. I've decided not to press the issue unless he does. Compared to all of the things I've dealt with at other places I lived it just doesn't seem to matter. Also, it's hard to take a man too seriously after seeing him in a purple and pink pastel striped shirt and pleated khaki shorts.
