My 2022 Tacoma off road seems to vibrate from 40 to 50 mph & low RPM’s. The dealer said that Toyota moved the RPM shift levels down so the engine seems to struggle at low speeds. Has anyone else had this issue?

Nothing of the sort on my sr5, but a buddies 2019 trd had the exact vibration issue. Dealer said its normal for that model.

Yes, a common symptom of the crap default tuning Toyota rushed to put on these trucks. If it is indeed the throttle lag vibe that occurs and not a driverside needle bearing issue (more so a symptom of lifting) then the only way to fix is re-tune. I re-tuned years ago because the stock tune was garbage and I would have sold the truck had I not.

I would not have keep our tacoma without tune either. Its literally night and day difference in how it drives. The new shifting points are much much better IMO. Throttle input is much nicer too. Tune all the way! KDMAX for me.

i did KDMax and it was good…that was after about 25 different tunes over 3 years. Switched to Nexus +P and it is much better. The constant power with better torque converter tuning is unbelievable. I get over 12mpg towing 4200lbs and without the truck just wants to go. At 80mph it still wants to go and holds speed so well whether towing or not

i think everyone has this issue to some extent. they programmed the transmission to almost lug the engine while cruising. i don't like it, but toyota thinks it's ideal.

Some models must be tuned quite a bit differently by toyota than others. I noticed some lugging when in a buddies 2019 tacoma at low rpm when he had it. I don't get any in my sr5. Even spoke with a water company that drives the companies SR 3.5 auto fleet trucks. Never mentioned any lugging, or vibrations. I would think if it was more of a problem with the amount of these gen3's out there, you'd have a lot more complaints to toyota to resolve the problem once and for all.

I have to really pay attention to feel any vibration in 2.7 at any RPM.

Mine does this quite a bit. I currently have the KDMax Pro XT tune, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

I have a 2022 sr5 and I have noticed this as well. It seems like the truck will run gears at lower rpm’s in certain gears. I think the gears are set to low because the truck almost bucks when this happens. I have been pushing the throttle a little further to drop a gear and it goes away. I am going to the dealer for the first service and will ask about it.

mine feels like it's misfiring when it's lugging in 6th gear. if you look at the tach you can see the rpms rapidly moving up and down. i found higher octane helps but it's stupid that it's programmed to drive like this.
