I put refrigerant in my a/c in 2020 and it didn't leak out until 2022 May. But now a friend put some in and, I don't think it had sealant in it, but no my a/c feels like dragon's breathe now.

Should I try some with sealant, or is it my condensor?

If it's my condensor........Video's please and instructions that are probably on TW.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Wouldn't put sealant in there, but do add some UV dye in it. Then after a few days, check all components with a UV light. Don't start throwing parts at it until you know what the issue is.

Don’t add stop leak. You aren’t going to help yourself or the guy fixing it.

    I’d recommend doing this

Ok, appreciate the advice. The UV stuff? How do use it, put it? I have lots of tools.

I think I've been smelling something hot, maybe the belt but I found a link that says the compressor has something that keeps the belt from frying, maybe the clutch?. It is on TW.

I'm not getting cool air @ all, dragons breathe HOOOOT! I hate heat...GIVE ME COLD!

    Anymore help. Thanks.

Sounds like it could be a problem with the temperature actuator if it's heater hot.

The temperature actuator can be seen by removing the glovebox and floor duct, the duct is a little tricky to get off but pretty easy once you figure it out.

The notch on the actuator shaft should line up with the mark on the actuator body as shown in the picture below.

Recirc door should also be open as shown with the recirc button on.

    Closed (Recirc off)

    Open (Recirc on)

Also check and see if the suction line (see picture below) is cold (truck running, A/C on high), if it isn't or is barely cool your either low on refrigerant or there's another problem in the refrigeration system, at this point you will need someone with gauges to hook up to it and diagnose further.

The amount of refrigerant and oil need to be right on for the system to work at maximum efficiency. Don’t add anymore crap to it. Take it to a shop pay the 100 bucks have it evacuated leak tested and refilled correctly. A/C system is not a diy.

Too much R134A will also cause a loss of cooling effect.
