I raised the truck up on old wheels and jack stands this morning. Getting ready to try to put the tranny back. I noticed a pink mark on the input shaft. Does anyone know the purpose of this?
This is the shaft that goes to the clutch and engine. This is a 5 speed manual, and will link to a 2.4 engine.
I am carrying the flywheel to the machine shop today to get it turned.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Some vendors mark used parts so if you have a problem they can tell it is the part they sold being returned.

The truck had 45K miles on it when I bought it. I would be surprised if its seen daylight since it was built in 04. My thought was that this is something Toyota did. I could be wrong.
I am thinking that maybe mark goes up.(12 oclock) Does orientation mater on these trucks?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Toyota loves pink. I suspect this was a mark applied to mark that it had been inspected or was ready to move to the next point on the line.

Could be color coded for the amount of splines on that particular shaft, that way they can tell at a instant what they're dealing with,,, if there's multiple shafts for the same trans. Just an idea
