Ok I just took throttle body off cleaned it.I changed my fuel filter, spark plugs ,and ujoints. I also took injectors out tested and cleaned them . My truck always shifted at the right time before. It runs much better idles great but now it wont shift until about 3000 rpms getting it into overdrive takes 55mph or so 3000 rpm then letting off gas a hair what can be adjusted to fix the issue im thinking throttle cables or TPS myself .
Its a 1997 DLX with a 2.4L 16 valve It shifted perfect before the work and fluid in trans is fine to me its something that isnt adjust correctly or maybe a sensor of some sort I feel a slight vibration on gas pedal which its always had steering wheel is still shaking a hair

I think you need to adjust the cables near the throttle body. One of them has something to do with the transmission and shifting. The inner metal piece should line up with the rubber thingy like this: [IMG]

I had same prob w/98.....there's a cable that runs from the TB down to the trans...
Try repositioning it, mine is pretty sensitive.... took little moving around to get right and not touch header.
