Good day. Checking to see if anyone has these installed within a 2hr range from Nashville and would not mind taking someone for a drive? Asking before I buy. I have 22 TRD OR and what I have read it would be a good upgrade/lift just curious how it feels.

    Thanks

I was looking at this combo myself. Seams like a lot of people are running Rough Country around here as its a Tennessee local company.

I am not in the nashville area, but I can phone in my impressions.

I found the set to be about as firm as the stock Sport hitachis, but the rebound is one of the best I've experienced - there's almost no secondary bounce-back when recovering from the initial compression. Take a bump at speed and they reset the truck supernaturally fast. Cornering is great, and it soaks up the big stuff without complaint. It feels almost as planted as a sports sedan on the highway, and it is pretty responsive on light to moderate trails.

The big drawback to this setup is the same as any digressive shock - small impacts suck. If your tires aren't pliant enough to soak up the small potholes, washboard, or road chatter, you will feel it. Doubly so if you keep the sway bar. :anonymous: It isn't overly annoying and doesn't quite get to farm-tractor levels of stiffness, but its enough to remind you that you are in a truck that's riding on mid-tier budget shocks. ...And then you hit a big dip and completely forget what you were complaining about. :D

My overall opinion is that I'm happy with them, I use mine 65% commuting, 34% towing the camper, 1% trails/off pavement. I love them as a road suspension, and they do pretty well off road as well.

Thats my personal experience at any rate, others may differ. :cookiemonster:

Did you also upgrade to larger wheels at the time of the suspension install?

No, I run 265/70-17's. I didn't want to upsize from that.

I'm running 6112s B12 special springs with the 1/2 inch billet top hat and 5125s in the rear. I run 285/60R18s (essentially 32" tires), with a 2 inch block in the rear. The 5125s are warrantied for limited life, while the 5160s are for 90 days. Unless you are off road a lot, the remote reservoir shocks are an added expense that is not needed.

I’m running this exact set up myself. They’re set up on the 5/6 clips. I also did a Toytec sway bar relocation kit and a HS progressive leaf pack. I love how it drives and handles now. The stock Hitachi shocks were a bit too “cushy”. I like the feedback I get from the road now. Hope this helps a little.
