Does anyone know of a belt pattern or if it’s even possible to run without A/C compressor in place? 2010 Tacoma 2.7L 4WD 156k.

I feel as though somewhere at some point i saw essentially a big idler pully assembly that would take place of the AC compressor. Let me search.

Looks like the 2.7s can run a smaller belt!

In my old buick 3.8 turbo 6, the ac stopped working, it was way too much to fix so I drove without ac. Until an idiot passenger fiddled with the knobs, causing it to seize. I found an ac delete pulley. Remove the compressor, install the pulley, ran the same belt. I'll dig to see if I can find where I got it.

I have been running for years now with an idler pulley in lieu of the compressor. No problems. Well, except that tomorrow I have to head south into mid-90's w/high humidity for a wedding. But with the airflow set to the dash, fan on full blast, windows cracked, and the slider open a couple inches, it's tolerable. Albeit noisy.
