    I have been listening for any info on that situation and have heard nothing other than something about vF Tuner considering how to do it.

    I can see how a photo of registration paperwork could work, but also, can see how that can be abused, esp as every state will have a different one. It should be worked out by now, but it also amazes me how far the scammers have gone to screw up a good thing.

    I agree with the registration thing that would make it do I can not tune my wife 4 runner it’s in her name….. but kind think of it as one in the same my state says in community property if we are married. Just frustrating because when I paid all the money that’s what I bought now it’s different so no longer getting what I paid for.

    This might help calm your fears, but from what I know VF is completely undectable by dealers- perhaps @tonered would be able to confirm that, but from what I've seen, its undetectable.

    The one thing there is that anyone that drove a 3rd Gen previously would immediately know that one was tuned. :D My own dealer said nothing good or bad about any of my mods during three ToyotaCare visits. I was surly expecting something about the 2LM.

    Beyond that, from what is said, only corporate would be able to tell if there was a tune by examining the ECU. The whole CVN thing that is going on in Cali is new. The latest version of vF reports the CVN, but I have not done any data gathering there yet.

    @tonered

    If I request my tuner (YW/Nexus Blackhawk) to switch off the CEL due to catalytic codes, would the CEL still illuminate for other issues if they were to arise? Or is the CEL disabled completely? This is all hypothetical...I currently have no codes or CEL, but am considering the AFE catted down tubes and am trying to make a game plan in advance.

    If this is a question for someone else, my bad! Would appreciate your thoughts.

    It's all good.

    The P0420 / P0430 DTCs are only for the rear O2 sensor threshold values, so not only does turning them off not affect any other CEL / OBD functions, but also, the O2 sensors still do their job. It just doesn't flag up if you go over the threshold.

    :cheers:
