Today I was driving my truck up onto ramps to install my skid plate. I thought these trucks had hill assist. But, as I go up the ramp, let off the gas, it rolls backwards making it more difficult to climb the ramp. My Camaro was easy. It would hold right in the middle of the ramp until I gave it more gas. Am I missing something? Does Hill Assist work differently in these trucks? The owners manual doesn't really explain it very well in my opinion. Some people say it makes some noises when it engages.

I believe the sport has it but the OR does not.

Looks like the OR has it. Just not sure how it works.

I found a video on YouTube. Sounds like I need to depress the brake a little harder while on an incline to activate the Hill Start Assist Control.

I have a crazy steep driveway, on which if I roll too far I will crash directly into the garage door. I’ve been testing this out and my best method so far has been fully depress the brake but not for too long, only a second, then lift. If I hold the brake too long, it just rolls when I release it.

also I guess it doesn’t work in reverse? or not as well? That might be expected but I sure didn’t know and my garage door def shit its pants that morning

Does it make any noises or do any lights come on the dash? I read that it does some weird crap when it is engaged, which doesn't seem right to me.

that has happened when it engages traction control. dash lights up like a Christmas tree, something that sounds like a brake solenoid maybe goes bonkers. Yeah I’ve had that a few times and thankfully it has so far saved my garage door from certain destruction.

but not for hill assist that I’ve noticed
