My door ajar light will not shut off. If my door is shut, the light is dim and when I open it, it gets brighter. Is there anyway to check the door contacts? If so, where do I check or maybe a fuse is bad? I traced the drivers side wire and there isnt anything wrong with it.

If the light is dim with the door closed, and the brighter when it is opened, then it is less likely to be a door switch. The fact that brightness changes when you open the door indicates that the proper signal is usually being sent. I know this sounds a bit crazy, but have you checked to make sure the interior light switch is turned off? I have seen plenty of customers not realize that the switch was on.

Are you talking about the dome light or map light switches or is there another switch I am not aware of?

The dome light. Am I wrong in thinking that this is the light you are commenting on?

To clarify, it is the BODY ecu that controls the light. Not to be confused with the ENGINE ecu.
The body ecu gets a signal (ground) from each of the doors if they are opened. It is possible that one of these door switches has a problem. To test this theory, sit in the seat and observe the light on the dash for brightness as someone else opens each door. See if the brightness does not change for any particular door. Beyond that, you may need to use a test light, connected to the cars 12volt power source to check for a bad switch or signal.
On the Body ecu there are 3 input signals. Driver door, passenger door, and rear doors signal. On the body ecu you will want to check for a ground on any of those inputs. You can use the wiring diagram posted by PSU Taco above for which ones to check. If you have a ground on any of those wires, you will know which area of the truck to check for a problem. If you need any help, just let us know.
