Not abusing suspension towing

    2012 DCLB supercharged TRD Tacoma
    I have 6112s with a preload collar and shim kit on my front end(wescott designs). In the rear I have 5160’s with the full set of Icon RXT’s. I just replaced my old suspension because I have to tow a trailer relatively often and suspension was shot in the rear. Should I go with air lift or some type of summo bump stops? Don’t want to go through this set fast. Thanks

    Bags to take load off when towing will reduce fatigue. Sumo's will only contact when loaded and with the RXT's it may only contact some of the time with the trailer.

    A WD Hitch is another consideration.

    Make sure you load your trailer to keep tongue loads appropriately small.

    If the weight of the trailer will remain fairly constant, get a WDH and take the time to set it up correctly. It'll take some of that tongue weight and put it on the front axle of the truck as well as the axles of the trailer. It also provides sway control, depending on which kind you get. I can cruise down the highway at 70-75 mph and the trailer pulls like a dream.

    Bone stock tundra suspension with an 800ish pound tongue weight. Initially, the rear end dropped 3" but once I got the WDH setup, the front and rear both dropped 1/2". WDH are underappreciated, they're pretty clever.
