Plumas, Tahoe, El Dorado, and Stainislaus National Forest all have fire restrictions. Rest of California will probably be the same.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Finally got most of the Niagara Rim Poker Run done. There's a couple more shorts I'll add to the playlist, but for the most part this is it.

Day 3 - Parts 1 and 2 are the actual Poker Run
Day 1 is just a travel day
Day 2 is a bit of exploring

Full disclosure. My camera girl (Jen) fell during the Poker Run. There are a couple short clips before hardbrake hill that are actually B rolled from another trip. She's was having a bit of a hard time getting motivated to get in and out of the truck (understandably)

@Blue Canary @CemenTRDgen @essjay @Impoy47 and others will probably see... there is A LOT more to Lion's Butt and Rock Pile than we have done in the past.

Awesome videos Matt. Keep em coming. Shared your vids with coworkers who wheels. An F250 long bed wants to do NRT. Can he fit in that trail?

I think he could. There are some tight spots that may need some maneuvering. But I think he'd make it.

The spotters parked, blocking the area where you can turn around. In fact, they were parked where I couldn't even go as wide as I normally do, without using it to turn around.

That's why I was so out of shape going in.

Yeah I don’t trust just anyone to spot me unless I get out and point out my line or it’s some one I trust and have wheeled with.

In a situation like that I think it’s totally good to stop, get out, look at the line you want and take it.

The guy spotting there probably knows a lot about wheeling but not a lot about your rig or your wheeling style so he just points and says “shoot”…

idk. Run the wipers a couple times without washer fluid?

The dude was trying to help and while you may not know him, he doesn't know you--it's the hard part of running in a big group.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

    It's long but here's the...

    Full story.

Those dudes showed up about 45 minutes late. Our group (of 20 plus rigs) had to wait for them to show up, so they could get down the trail, to that obstical, before us.

Our group (20 plus rigs) had to sit and wait at the trail head... while 3 other groups (with 20 plus rigs, each) were slowly moving their way on the course towards that obstical.

They parked, literally in the way. You need to go wide at the top to get in position to go down straight. They parked their trucks so you couldn't do that.

We wen't through it at about 9 AM... I was the 2nd truck of (no joke) nearly 100 rigs that were coming that day.

Literally, everything he said was wrong.
If your hand is on the hand brake it's not on the steering wheel.
If my hand brake actually worked, and I followed his advise, with how unloaded the back end gets on that hill, the ebrake will lock up my back wheels... which is not exactly what I want.
He lied to me... the ONE thing I asked was to be inside that rock, he said I was... I wasn't (luckily I know that obstical and knew where I was at)
He rushed me, I needed to back up again and take another stab, but I was already done with his attitude (which started before I even got to the top)

Here's the best part... This dude is not just some newb, he's the President of a local Jeep club that's been around quite a while (not 4x4 In Motion)

@Blue Canary can tell you why I'm leary of that rock.

When I spot someone I don't know in an unfamiliar vehicle I tell them before I spot you should know I can really only spot 1st gen access cab Tacoma with a camper on the back.

I've had some "helpful" folks try and spot me numerous times. I drive my line and ignore them. Sometimes I'll stop as I'm passing them and let them know if I wanted a spot I'd ask for one. Other times I leave the window up and tunes loud and pretend they don't exist. lol
