I bought a parts washer when I redid the last tractor, 12 years ago. Plugged it in the other day and the pump is shot. Hasn't been used in 11 years :anonymous:

Got to thinking or wondering the age of your kids and kind of changes priorities or things we enjoy doing when they come along.
Not a bad thing. Just understand the not using the parts washer in eleven years.

I love our blast cabinet. Just nice having. But they do make portable guns that have a hopper on top for media and you just connect to an air-line. I've used it multiple times vs using the cabinet just for the ease of being able to switch to different medias. I dont want to empty out all the course stuff for a couple 6061 parts that need fine media... especially if those couple parts are my own on a weekend. lol

I brought a stainless tub from a broken sonicator home from work 18 years ago with plans of making a parts washer. I think the tub is still in the yard barn!

Kids and the store are my biggest after work time consumers. Getting off here at 3 and there at 7 don't leave much time for "playing" :D

He ask me about speeds and feeds, told him 2,400 RPM and 5.9ipm. He said that bit likes 4,000 RPM. :annoyed:

Do you want to do it or you want me to? :D

Last time I did these parts I did them on the 2 axis bridgeport, didn't raise the tool up when I hit go and broke a bit. He brought another one. This time there were so many I wanted to do them on the cnc. Luckily @XPOTRPR helped me figure out the speed and feed from their website. It says nothing about 4,000 RPM.

Absolutely hit my limit on some parts for the mill. 2.375 DOC total needed to be roughed out. Tried a .5 EM with 3" loc and its chatter city at no matter the speed. Going to try some 5/8 reduced shank end mills from Maritool when they show up today. The pockets suck but there doable since there mostly drilled from the backside/first op

nice! glad they worked out. Gotta love when the customer knows better.. lol

yeah idk where he got that number from. maybe he was just trying to knock em out faster and cranked the Feed as well with it.

what's your Radial and material? I like doing full DOC with a light ass radial and then feed it faster.

Ive ran a batch of these before but the tool is no longer made that I used.

It's 1045 CR Ive tried anywhere from .8 to full 2.375 DOC. Radial I believe was 5-10% so .025 to .05.

Lakeshore said start at 150 SFM .0015 FPT
