Seeing if anyone has the Miller Cat security installed that has the TRD skid plate. I have the Cat security already installed but want to purchase the skid plate as well. Will the skid plate fit without any modification? Thanks,

How bad was the installation and fit of the CAT shield?

They work fine together. Although now I'm starting to wonder why my millercat fits my front crossmember worse than yours. Mine kind of straddles a hole in one spot and the hole has a lip on it that deformed my cat piece. Hard to describe but mine definitely is not as clean looking installed as yours is.

I installed the shield first and then the TRD. The TRD had no issues with the MillerCat.

I just installed a MillerCat stainless steel version. Mine fits perfectly like the OP’s pictures. I used a floor jack to hold it in place until all bolts and screws were finger tight then I torqued to specs. No need to touch my Sport skid plate during install. Here is a video of MillerCat being installed on a Pro, so even the longer Pro skid plate should be no problem.

Make sure the plate the goes above the crossmember has the rounded end on the drivers side. Maybe try loosening all screws and bolts and use a floor jack to hold it in place when lining up all holes.

Yeah when I get home I’m going to pull the TRD and take pics to show what I’m talking about. I can loosen all the bolts but they were already all loose when I installed it. Plate has the rounded edge facing driver as it’s supposed to.

I think the issue is one of my crossmember holes is not flat like it’s supposed to be. Maybe the PO did something to it.

One other thing I did was buy 3 lock washers and 3 washers at a hardware store for the screws that go into the crossmember plate. My instruction sheet did not list any as being needed and included. I felt that would let me torque the front 3 screws without worrying about damaging the MillerCat plate holes.

The issue for me is that my plate does not sit flat against the crossmember due to the way one of the holes is. So tightening the screws inevitably bends the plate in that spot where it doesn’t sit flat.

Do you have a gap between the MillerCat and the crossmember that a bad person could try to pry it off?

Wonder if you have the wrong version of the cat shield. 4x2 vs 4x4

possibly, but it looks like the pics of what other 4x4 owners installed so I dont think so. It looks like they used to supply you with a 4 bolt version actually but it interfered with the TRD I'm guessing which is why it's now a 3 bolt version up front.

Not really. It's basically like someone pried on one of the three holes and bent the edge of the hole downward just slightly that it made a high point for the catshield to rock on. Which then fastening down the screws bent the plate since it was straddling the high point. It's not like my plate is inches off the crossmember or anything, it's on the crossmember, but doesn't sit evenly all the way across.

Pictures will make it make sense, once I can get home and take them.

Mine looks like the top pic, and is a 4x4.
