Dealership called and said my frame is in stock and ready for replacement.

What’s included in the frame replacements nowadays?

What in your experience has the dealership offered on in addition to the warranty work?

Other good ideas to have done while this work is done?

When my 1st gen got a new frame, they basically replaced everything that touched it.

The dealership didnt offer anything in addition, except if I wanted to modify anything, they would do it while it was apart.

They did get me a rental, though.

Steering rack plus intermediate shaft, upper control arms, body mount bushings, shocks/coils.

Those are the big ones I can think of right now. all these things will come off anyway so you’d only pay for the parts.

    …just hit 70k miles

New Jersey registration and dealership, I’m convinced my procrastination paid off, inspection middle of May, campaign ended June 1st.

Rust hole big enough to be out of spec right at the AC condenser drain

I think dealer’s are hurting for work and just so happen to be more overzealous. My frame is pretty decent otherwise in comparison.

Here’s something that might be out of the ordinary but hopefully on others minds.

If you could’ve had your new frame in hand before swap, what would you have done differently?

This dealership keeps them outside in the back, any certain spots on the frame that you wish that you could’ve rattled canned before install?

When the truck is returned to you, invest the effort to prevent a reoccurrence. Because you wont get another replacement.

Lots of threads around here on how to do that right.

Sitting out back in the rain at the dealer is no big deal. Or even snow for that matter. It's the road chemicals from driving in the winter that's the problem.

My first gen had frame replaced at 286k. Different items I can think of during replacement was brake lines, gas lines, lower control arms. I'm sure there are others but can't think of now, it's been awhile. I had them install new shocks instead of my old ones. Maybe upgrade your shocks with 3rd gen. I did that on my 07 and was a good upgrade. I'm on my 3rd Tacoma now, a 2013. After purchasing I immediately fluid filmed the frame. I do it 2 times. Before and after winter. Frame still looks new. Highly recommend some sort of oil treatment on your frame after you get it back. Congrats on new frame.
