Ok, so I was wondering what would happen if i buy and install both a cold air intake (legit sealed box) AND a Toyota ram air intake. Would it do any good, is it even possible or what…i really want to help not just the lifespan of my engine but also the performance of it. Its a daily so im not looking for anything crazy. But i am curious.

Will not help performance. Will not help filtration.

The only efficiency gained by either one will be a microscopic increase in fuel mileage which will be the direct result of a lighter wallet after purchasing said intake. Toyota engineers are pretty smart folks (mostly - coolant cross-over pipes, frame anti-corrosion coatings and one or two other issues aside), and stock OE is your best bet.

the stock airbox is ALREADY a cold air intake, every car made for the last 30 years has a stock cold air intake. As for the ram air, I don't know, I think you would be going to slow to get anything from it most of the time, they only work when you are going very fast.

So, honest question. What is the best thing i can do to get better gas milage out of my truck. I know tuning will help, but who has that kinda money lol.

Keep her stock is the best thing really. Those engineers at toyota are pretty smart about mpgs. Keep stock tires stock gears and don't add any weight to it.

lets say…for hypothetical reasons only, the truck has 4” lift and 33s on it…

This^^ And drive for optimal fuel economy. Most people don't realize how much their driving can effect the amount of $$$ they have to put into their gas tank. Slow acceleration, steady speeds, gradual slow-downs...

Ya just saw your mods.... Not really anything for it a that point. Trying to regear to get back to stock gear ratios will help, but not really anything else.

Could just throw some stock tires on it. Would look stupid with the 4 inch lift but would improve mpgs.

Yes it is possible and part of my Gen2.5 facelift plans.
And yes, it is beneficial (performance-wise, not mpg) especially in an FI/boosted application.

In an NA truck, probably not as much.

I did the Toyota TRD CAI and Catback. I’ve definitely noticed better mileage, better sound, and no drone in the cabin. I have a 6 speed manual with 430 gears. If cruising around 55 mph, I generally get 25+ mpg; 65-70 mph gets me 22 mpg, and 85+, I drop to 17-20. For this truck, I think that’s pretty good.

Only one that matters, cut a hole in the hood and put a blower on it
