What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Can you please share more on this garage door switch? (How it’s wired, parts, etc.) Would like to do this on my truck sometime too. Thank you.

 

I laid on the ground with the TRD skid resting on me and lined it up somehow. I must have been determined since I told my wife, it was already there when she noticed the Air Dam was off! lol

 

Do you have ramps? This worked for me.


I layed down on the creeper, then layed the skid plate on me and rolled under. Get the 2x rear partially in first, then middle and front.

 

if you combine the Tacoma with Hilux, it’s easily the best selling mid size truck…by a wide margin

 

Last time I didn't have ramps nor creeper, I had floor jack and some cardboard on the ground, it took me forever to line up the bolts

This time I have ramps and a creeper, hopefully things can go much easier

I wish I had taken more pictures of the install. It is really just two parts you have to buy. The switch (eBay) and the harness that plugs into the cargo light switch on the left side of the steering wheel. The entire cost was around $45. You have to open the garage remote and determine which posts to solder the wires to. To do this, locate the button on the remote PC board that operates the opener. There are usually four posts on the button that are soldered to the board. I used a single wire, stripped on both ends to figure out which two posts operate the opener. Touch one end of the wire to one of the posts, and the other end of the wire to a different post. When the garage door activates, take note of which posts you touched. These are the ones you will solder to the green and black wires from the harness.

Drove it to work on and clean our the race trailer and wash the Dodge, Replace the O2 sensor im my dads Camery.
Sat back with some Jack n Coke and relaxed.
Received my helper springs box damaged and empty. waiting for Amazon to make it right.

i actually have this! Would prefer the convenience of a button or home link. A little easier vs reaching for my phone, unlocking, going to the app, then using the features.
I’ve heard of a few break ins that have happened and their garage door openers also being stolen.
A built in button that’s powered when the truck is on would be ideal.

 

I wasn’t happy with stock power and I’ve always wanted, and never had, a vehicle with a supercharger.

 

I have this on my opener. I just wish the MyQ app would integrate with Apple Car Play. It would be easy if the button to open the garage was right there on the display.
