I was scheduling my 10k dealer service for my '22. The woman said "Oh and there is a recall that we need to deal with... but... we don't have the part, so we'll deal with it later." I asked what the recall was for, she was kind of vague "something something child seat clip something something." Sorry no more details, it was fast, and I don't use child seats so didn't really care.

Is this new or am I the last to know (like always).

I thought it was discussed the other day.

It's a non issue if you don't use a car seat in your Tacoma.

Recalls happen, the only thing is with this one. The issue became a problem six years into production. It's not a 1st year production issue. How does that happen.

Cars.com is reporting the same recall on the same number of new Tundras, I presume Cars.com does not know the difference between a Tacoma and a Tundra.

I don’t need the child latch system but the recall is keeping me from getting my new Tacoma. Hopefully they have a solution soon

Just checked the app and sure enough mine was affected. I have a 3 year old so I’ve made an appointment at my dealer on Tuesday. I’m so glad I saw this on here because I’m headed out of town on Wednesday through Saturday.

"Toyota has not yet explained how it will fix the problem. It is “currently developing” a remedy. The company expects to notify owners in “mid-September” that they can bring their truck in for repair.

Toyota’s press release doesn’t ask parents to do anything specific in the meantime. But, to be safe, we’d recommend not driving children small enough to need a safety seat in your 2022-2023 Tacoma until a Toyota dealership has repaired the problem."

I agree that it's strange that it's this many years in to production this issue came up. And not foe previous years. Someone changed something in production that didn't work as well.

There wont be a resolution yet, its too new. You may be wasting your time. Call ahead first.

Everyone needs to relax as usual.

If you're really worried, use another vehicle until its addressed.

Or for now, double up the seat belt with the latch system.

I dont know about you guys but where Im at I dont see Tacomas with child seats in them. Usually mini van/SUV type cars. I can see how iy may have taken a while for the defect to appear.
