    95 taco 4x4 manual
Hey guys, another no-start thread. So my truck died in traffic, it’s a manual so at first I thought I somehow stalled, but I think that’s irrelevant now. It wouldn’t start so some guys in a work helped me push it off the road.

I’ve been having trouble starting for the last month so I figured the fuel pump went, dropped the tank, pulled and tested the pump and swapped it for a new one since it seemed pretty old and I was already that far into the process.

So if I use starter fluid or gas in the intake it will fire, if I ground a plug it’s getting spark, compression is good. I figured maybe I should reset the Ecu by disconnecting the battery, so the CEL isn’t on, but I don’t have a scanner on hand. Probably should’ve scanned it before doing that.

The tach doesn’t move when I crank so, having been in this situation before after doing a cylinder head I forgot to plug the sensor back in so that left me scratching my head for an afternoon.

I went to check the crank sensor, I don’t have a multimeter on hand so I made a test light out of some wires and a spare taillight bulb.

The sensor doesn’t turn on the test light when it cranks, I’m wondering if it has to be grounded, since there’s a copper tab in the plug which I figure grounds it to the block.

    so my questions are
    1. Is the tach not moving indicative of strictly a bad crank sensor, or is there anything else I should be trying to test?
    2. How would I know if the sensor itself is bad, or if it’s not getting power?
    3. Are there any fuses/relays related to fuel other than the relay under the dash, and the 15amp EFI fuse under the hood?
    4. How do I go about testing the Ecu to make sure my problem isn’t that?
    5. Where would I attach a wire to jump the fuel pump?
    6. If the CPS or it’s connection is bad, does it always cut fuel? Because I’ve heard of it cutting spark, but when it was unplugged last time it only cut fuel.

    Please and thank you.
