First time retrofitting, Have some questions

So I recently got a pair of oem headlights for 40 bucks and I wanted to try my hand at retrofitting them. I went with a morimoto mled 2.0 turbine shrouds and a 110mm switchback to put behind the shrouds. Today while doing some dry fitting it seems like the 110mm halo it does not like to fit with the turbine shroud. The black ring that comes with the shroud seems to be a little larger than the halo itself. I am wondering if anyone has installed a halo behind their turbines and had any tips on how to mount mine. I ordered everything from morimoto so im surprised that its not fitting. Do I need to trim some stuff out of the way?

I got those same halos behind Turbine shrouds. Been a couple years since I did it, but if I remember right I just trimmed the mounting studs down until it fit. I don't have any pictures during the build process, but this is how mine turned out.

 

Bit of a thread revival but did you ever end up finishing this project ?

 

I'm not sure about that shroud specifically, but nothing ever fits easily with Morimoto. They recommended 110mm halos for my Panamera shrouds. They didn't fit very well at all, so I ordered 120mm. Still needed to dremel out inside the shroud to run the wires for the front 80mm halo.
