Nope and I’m on the road the next couple days but I know how loud it’s been the last couple years so it’ll be obvious if there’s a change

Snaked a rope through some 3/4” pipe insulation and used it to pull the foam tubing over the gas tank and exhaust near the gap. Then used a stick to poke it up where I wanted it.
Pretty sure I can hear a difference. Definitely worth $1.99, it even if it’s placebo.
Thanks to @oostroma for the idea to use something else to feed the tube from one side to the other

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
I fed the pool noodle from the right to the left, overtop of the muffler and then the fuel tank. It is just pushed up enough to be even with the bottom of the cab and box and then tipped the ends down so water could drain.

Just did this mod today, made a real difference in the noise level. I used the same weather seal the op used. Only thing I did different is that I cut the 20' piece in half and starting at the bolt kept going till I ran out. Made it about 7/8 down the back door jam until I ran out on both sides. The doors are slightly harder to close, but if I didn't know what they were like before, I wouldn't even notice it.

I just did the fun pool noodle between the cab and bed and I swear that it has cut a LOT of noise that comes from that area. This is a great addition to using Noico to deaden all of the doors (did that last summer). Even though I do have a decent amount of Noico left over, I do not need to use it on the back wall of the cab because the noodle eliminates the opportunity for noise to even get into that area in the 1st place.

Putting the noodle in took less than 5 minutes, just got under the truck and threaded it from the middle over the gas tank first then did the same on the passenger side. Pressed it in between the cab and bed with my fingers and tried to make sure the ends were not angled upwards to collect water. Took it for a drive and was surprised that it cut out so much noise that I used to think was just ambient while driving.

Less than $3 mod . . . Best bang for the buck to reduce the sounds of the bangs and the bucks of this truck, ever.

Anyone know if this will help with the whistling noise when driving on the freeway about 65 mph?

kind of reviving the thread, sorry, but if you have rain guards it’s probably that

I don't have rain guards/window visors on yet. I actually got a roll of the weather stripping delivered today and I didn't put them on permanently yet, just taped them down with masking tape and went on the freeway. Unfortunately it didn't make a difference in wind noise or the high pitched sound.

Perhaps provide some pics of the front of your Taco and the door seals to see if someone can spot an issue.
