VIN

Just a quick question about my 2022 SR with the utility package. When I run the VIN it's telling me it's an SR/SR5. Any ideas why, the dealer cannot answer my question. I also have intermittent wipers, which is supposed to be eliminated in that package.

 

SR5 uses SR as base.

 

Ok, my 2010 Tacoma was considered a base model but had the SR5 badges. Also when running the VIN it sometimes comes up SR5 with V6 2WD. Just don't understand why that is happening.

 

Did you already take delivery? You’re upset you have intermittent wipers?

 

Yes and no, I'm just wondering if it has the intermittent wipers would it be set up for keyless entry, since it just came with the regular keys. Some of the info that is online is stating that if the power lock on the driver's side locks and unlocks the passenger side with one push it is. Any truth to this?

 

At least in 2016, only the SR was available with the Utility Package (so I believe you do have an SR). Sometimes dealers get confused. Somewhere on TW there is a thread about a dealer selling an Off Road as an SR5 because the bed stickers were removed. See page 11 of this PDF for 2016 details on the Utility Package.

I also have cruise control which states it comes with the convince package. Are heated mirrors standard?

 

heated mirrors are standard. At least sr models now have apple CarPlay.. my 2016 sr didn’t have it…

 

Yes, I use the Android Auto.

 

I also have a 2022 SR with the Utility Package and have intermittent wipers, and asked this same question. It seems intermittent wipers have been standard on the Utility Package since 2021, even though the window sticker says it was deleted.

All tacomas show up as SR5 depending on the decoder. Even Pro's. This is a weekly question.
