Ok, gonna tell you coming from a TRD tacoma myself and I used it like a big truck or at least tried. If you plan on pulling a 4000-4500lb travel trailer you will be lucky to keep it at 3,00 rpm. Yes the transmission will kick down from time to time but she will be screaming closer to 4k rpm constantly. I have a small 16' RV at one point, no granted the wind was blowing out of the SW as we are headed toward Corpus but I was constantly at the 4k rpm range. I topped off in Pleasanton and had to fill up again as soon as I crossed the bridge for the island. (port a). Yes the truck will do it but I would recommend not trying to go 70+ and try to keep it around 65mph, yes it will make the drive longer but it will save you on the wallet. You are looking at a good 4 day run one way to get there towing an RV, as I have done that drive a couple of times and its two very hard days of a 1000 miles per day and the 3rd was still a 7-8 hr run.

Now with the rear leaf pack, if you plan on hauling a bunch I would recommend getting a set. Lots of people say don't get OME heavy duty pack but I liked them, but again I used the truck way more then most do/did. The second option and you need this regardless especially with the taco it get yourself a weight distribution hitch that should be bought with the RV. This will help keep the Taco from sagging in the rear. Here is general link to what I am talking about.

As others has mentioned the brake controller is a plug an play operation, just remove the drivers side kick panel (by your left foot) :D and pull it loose. Your taco should of come with a trlr harness in the glove compartment, wire it to the brake controller and connect them together.

Have fun, I somewhat debated it but decided we would stay home this coming weekend. Snag some pics to post on the thread...

:pccoffee: Good Morning SA! Back at it in the garage again; maybe I enjoy some progress instead of just a sauna. No, the little swamp cooler is NOT an AC, but it actually did keep the temp from rising as much - until I opened the door!
