Thickness of toyo mt’s

Does anyone happen to know how thick the mt’s are? It seems a rock cut through and then broke off in the main part of the tire instead of one of the knobs. Just wondering if im risking a blowout if i dont replace it

 

It's cooked man, see those little evenly spaced threads sticking out at the bottom of the gash? That's actual structural cords of the tire. That's a weak point that's gonna spread. Probably not going to IMMEDIATELY explode so don't panic, but yeah she's done.

 

Blow out probably not, you might start to have tread separation from the carcass there though, especially once water starts working in there.

I'd drive on it until I could get a replacement.

10 ply tires are about 3/8"-1/2" thick carcass typically.

 

Yeah Id still run it, but for a half ass piece of mind I'd run it in the rear.
