Is the VIP ticket worth it for brickfest? Says it comes with a exclusive event build, badge, and pin.
They also have tickets for several different entry times throughout the day, which seems odd.

I didn’t get the VIP but I did see people with a badge that said “VIP” on a plain lanyard, a small pin that looked like a Lego brick with eyes and the build was behind black curtains so I can’t speak to that.

I’ll say overall the event was very disappointing. There were very few custom builds to see. There was a store area with Lego sets that you can buy at a Lego store, online or Target and the price sheets said they were the same as Lego.com. There were no out-of-print or custom Lego sets available to buy and as far as souvenirs there were two different shirts at $25 each. There were two guys from a Brickmaster(?) TV show that were talking on a stage.

I think small children would’ve enjoyed it because they had some build areas, one almost like a giant sandbox full of Legos that a bunch of kids were sitting in and some random build tables.

There was a T-mobile stand set up trying to hock phone plans.

The friends we went with who had gone to many Lego events said it was the worst one they’d been to and apologized for talking us into going and said this wasn’t typical.

Regarding start times, we got a 9:00 ticket and by 8:30 the line had wrapped around the parking lot and up and down three rows. It was very hot so we all waited in the car until the line thinned. We got in around 10:00 and saw everything and left by 11:30. The line had reformed for the 11:00 entrance time. It was nearly as long. I imagine if they let everyone show up whenever the opening line would be ridiculous.

    Thanks for the review. :hattip:

Puts my Brick Universe experience, which I renamed Brick Solar System at the time, in perspective.

    Nice.
I just picked up the 911 set and I'm gonna get the rebrickable instructions to build it into a countach. It looks awesome and requires no extra pieces.
I guess I should buy another 911 set to actually build the 911. Hmm

fedex just realized that they are not going to be able to deliver my package today and sent me an apology email. new delivery date pending
i already figured that it wasn't going to be today based on the fact that the truck was still in north dakota at 10am today.
you'd think they'd figure it out by now that their estimates are worthless.

I too purchased another 911 to make it to that. The 911 was a fun build glad I have the Speed Champion one to go with it
