Yeah, when I was looking at the new allocation options, there were 4 with tech package, and 1 of those had LED. No LED without tech package. At least In my case but I think sales guy said this is true in general.

Tech package, for me, was a must-have, though, so that makes the LED $500. But yeah if someone didn’t care about the tech package and wanted LED, it’d be basically more expensive. I hear what you’re saying and it’s hard to put into words that make sense lol

The Morimoto has an option for the DRL to be amber in color.

Looks good! That color often doesn’t do it for me for some reason, but your truck looks seriously awesome.

    Good to know, thanks.

I’m waiting to see which of the 2 trucks I’ve got holds on arrives first. One has LED headlights, the other doesn’t, so not sure which way things will go yet. Looks like if it’s the truck without them that the Morimoto headlights will be the way to go.

And if I do end up with the LED headlights… Totally ignorance here admittedly lol but could I change out just the DRL? I wonder what it would look like to have amber DRL with the OEM LED headlights…

I installed the OEM LEDs on my '19 OR a couple weeks ago. Was kinda skeptical before purchase & install but WOW, what a difference! I had even upgraded the original halogen bulbs to the OSRAM H11 Night Breakers but there is no comparison, the OEM LEDs are definitely the way to go. And I can't say enough about daveeasa & his harness. Dude helped me through a problem that turned out to be no issue at all...lol. Not sure about the autos but if you have a manual you have to turn the h-key on for the turn signals to work. Dave truly knows his shit.
Probably would have gone for the Morimotos had I not found a deal on the OEM's. The issue at hand now is how to protect them. I'm thinking precut PPF, any suggestions where to buy?

And if you have an SR5, you get both amber and white depending on what stalk setting you are using

I didn’t know this. On their website it has 2 different options to choose from.

It's because the Drl signal is tied to the turn signal. Mine are the white version, but to my surprise when I use the "DRL" or "Auto" stalk setting, it's amber. When it's "off" or low beams on, it's white. They turn white in "off" because I use the fuse tap which means my drls are always on, either white or amber depending on what stalk setting i use

I'm sure the LED's are nice, although I find the stock headlights to be the brightest and widest view of any vehicle I have owned in 44 years of driving.

I actually just saw another cav blue truck this morning on my way to work. There are a couple in the area that we see every once in a while.

Thanks, the color is fairly polarizing. In Seattle where most vehicles are white or grey it's nice to have something different.

I went with OEM pro headlights and harness from @daveeasa after considering Morimoto. It just depends on what look you want and your light output needs.

I was going to get OEM LED TRD Pro headlights, I even bought an SR5 harness off @Puppypunter ahead of time. But then an opportunity presented itself on Morimotos from a local TW member and rest was history. Atleast I still have my harness incase I change my mind later lol

Is that only true on SR5s? That’s cool.

I’m getting an Off-Road and I’m wondering about if I can just change the DRLs to amber while keeping headlights stock.

This only works on sr and sr5s with morimoto headlights. TRD models have native DRLS, we have our drl tied into our turn signals

    Interesting

I haven't seen that with Tundra's with the same set up.
